Utah Saints

Did you know there's a band named the "Utah Saints"? They're actually from England, play dance music, and are not named after the Saints you're thinking of. According to Wikipedia, which never fails me, "The name "Utah Saints" as told by Willis is a play on the fact that when the New Orleans Jazz moved to Utah they kept their name "the Jazz". But as Willis put it in an interview once, "what if the New Orleans Saints moved to Utah?" A common misconception is that the band based their name on the fact that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are headquartered in Utah."

I find the reasoning a little weird. Why does he care about the Jazz relocating within America? I think I would do a little more research before naming my band.

Prison Workout (not that kind)

Do you know Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs? He was on this local Real Estate show back in DC before and then while he was on Dirty Jobs and those truck commercials. He's from that area. I feel like I knew him before he was a star. Haha, anyway, he posted a video about a 5 minute prison workout I thought you might be interested in. Now space isn't an excuse either. Time, too. Laziness, yes. Dang it.

Music and You Tube

The two combined for a pretty clever Weezer video. See if you remember all of the original videos.

Swim

One piece swimsuits never fit me properly. It doesn't bother me too much because I find them uncomfortable and I hate how high they cut the hip. maybe the distaste also stems from my eight or nine years I spent wearing them for swim team and then diving. I do like the style and cut of the retro swimsuits and Urban Outfitters always has the best retro inspired one pieces that can be found here.

Now if only they fit and I was willing to fork over almost $100. Not going to happen. Anthropologie has some really cute ones as well but they're twice as much and mostly high cut. Victoria's Secret actually has some decent ones (see below). I like the yellow one the best. Some prices are okay but some are like Anthropologie in the $160 range. I have to warn you. If you do buy a Victoria's Secret swimsuit, it won't look as good in person as it does in the picture. I've seen a few in person including the one I bought about two or three years ago and they look a little cheap. They were all VS brands, by the way, so the designer brands are probably fine.

Happy St. Patrick's Day Tomorrow

I'll never forget the date of St. Patrick's Day because it is my Grandpa Burt's birthday. (Just like Em's birthday is on or near Columbus Day. This year, her birthday is on a Monday so she'll share the celebration with Columbus. Mark your calendars.)

I saw these shirts on Design Crush and really liked them. I always keep my eyes open for designs I like for work. It's hard to tell in the picture but the left tee is a bunch of clover's making up the big four-leave clover. Happy St. Patrick's Day but more importantly, Happy Birthday Grandpa (tomorrow).

Loft Life

Part of me thinks it would be really cool to live in a loft with big open spaces. Another part, or maybe the same part, of me wants to live in a tree house. Realistically though, I need walls and doors to conceal messes and for privacy. I love this loft. I love the red brick, the wood, and the textures. I really love the bed. Someday I will have a canopy bed.

Free on Craiglist

I have been religiously refreshing the free posts on Craigslist for the past two weeks. We got a huge amount bricks to edge our landscaping from some guy who took them off his house.

Some retired "redneck band" guy put up these boots a few days ago. I emailed him about it but he never got back to me. He still has the boots up so there's hope that the snakeskin ones could be on Adam's feet soon. Cross your fingers. haha.

Post-It Note Pranks

I've seen people do crazy pranks to an office. Here are some ideas with a classic office supply, the Post-It Note. You could go decorate their office.

Or go after their house or car. Let me know if you do something like this or it happens to you.

Food Dressed As Humans

Not really but they are carved to look like them. I find this creepy, especially the watermelon, but hard not to look at. Maybe I should start playing with my food more often.
