There are no words...

Well, maybe one... "awkward". I'm so glad I don't know this family.

Ridiculous

I'm all for protecting our environment but this is getting a little crazy...

Headline: Cows bred to burp less will help reduce potent greenhouse gas and tackle global warming

A prototype cow which burps less is being bred in a breakthrough that could reduce a big source of the greenhouse gases responsible for global warming.

The farm animals are responsible for nearly three-quarters of total methane emissions.

Most of the gas comes from bovine burps, which are 20 times more potent than carbon dioxide as a greenhouse gas.

Stephen Moore, a professor at the University of Alberta in Canada, is examining the genes responsible for methane produced from the animal's four stomachs in order to breed more efficient, environmentally friendly cows...

For Free on Craigslist

I saw this a few days ago before it got flagged in the free section of Craigslist. Pretty funny. Click on the image for more detail.

Funny

I wasn't like every other kid, you know, who dreams about being an astronaut, I was always more interested in what bark was made out of on a tree. Richard Gere's a real hero of mine. Sting. Sting would be another person who's a hero. The music he's created over the years, I don't really listen to it, but the fact that he's making it, I respect that. I care desperately about what I do. Do I know what product I'm selling? No. Do I know what I'm doing today? No. But I'm here, and I'm gonna give it my best shot.

Name that movie. I'm gonna go watch it.

Discrimation

This is the second time this week I have been discriminated against for different reasons. The first time, I think my age (I look young) was the reason but today it happened because I'm a girl.

I want to give Adam the P90X DVDs with a pull-up bar. He wants a specific pull-up bar so I had to tell him what I was getting him so I didn't get the wrong thing. I found one on Craigslist and called the guy. He told me that some other guy called first but he would call me if he doesn't show. I told Adam the situation and he decided to see if the guy was playing games with me. He called and the guy told him he would meet him at 3 o'clock. I feel bad Adam is going to pick up his own gift but I can't help it if this guy is scared of girls. I actually think the situation is kinda funny but also really annoying. I'll let you know if he gets the workout stuff.

UPDATE: Adam drove at least 45 minutes away. The guy didn't show. He called him and he said his girlfriend sold it. I hate Craigslist people.

New Moon

(WARNING: Possible spoiler. If you don't want to find out how Edward and Bella reunite, stop now.)

Haha. Poor guy. They totally painted on his eight pack (click to make the photo bigger). I don't know how no one else has pointed this out. I keep seeing New Moon pictures popping up everywhere. I wonder if you be able to tell on the screen. Also, isn't Bella supposed to knock him over out of the light and then they kiss? Remember, he opens his eyes and thinks he's dead. Hmmm.

Medium

I don't think I'll ever move to Phoenix because, according to Medium, there seem to be a large amount of serial killers in the area. Speaking of Medium, poor Joe never gets a night of uninterrupted sleep. Such a good show.

Belly Paintings

I'm looking forward to Mel and Susie to post their belly paintings. I know it's something they'll treasure for years above their fireplace.

No Makeup

Kudos to those willing to go sans makeup in a national magazine but I still find it annoying. Am I the only one? I also think they retouched the photos. Come on, no bags at all and perfect skin? Here's a video of the shoot if you want to see.

Utah Saints

Did you know there's a band named the "Utah Saints"? They're actually from England, play dance music, and are not named after the Saints you're thinking of. According to Wikipedia, which never fails me, "The name "Utah Saints" as told by Willis is a play on the fact that when the New Orleans Jazz moved to Utah they kept their name "the Jazz". But as Willis put it in an interview once, "what if the New Orleans Saints moved to Utah?" A common misconception is that the band based their name on the fact that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are headquartered in Utah."

I find the reasoning a little weird. Why does he care about the Jazz relocating within America? I think I would do a little more research before naming my band.

Prison Workout (not that kind)

Do you know Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs? He was on this local Real Estate show back in DC before and then while he was on Dirty Jobs and those truck commercials. He's from that area. I feel like I knew him before he was a star. Haha, anyway, he posted a video about a 5 minute prison workout I thought you might be interested in. Now space isn't an excuse either. Time, too. Laziness, yes. Dang it.

Music and You Tube

The two combined for a pretty clever Weezer video. See if you remember all of the original videos.

Swim

One piece swimsuits never fit me properly. It doesn't bother me too much because I find them uncomfortable and I hate how high they cut the hip. maybe the distaste also stems from my eight or nine years I spent wearing them for swim team and then diving. I do like the style and cut of the retro swimsuits and Urban Outfitters always has the best retro inspired one pieces that can be found here.

Now if only they fit and I was willing to fork over almost $100. Not going to happen. Anthropologie has some really cute ones as well but they're twice as much and mostly high cut. Victoria's Secret actually has some decent ones (see below). I like the yellow one the best. Some prices are okay but some are like Anthropologie in the $160 range. I have to warn you. If you do buy a Victoria's Secret swimsuit, it won't look as good in person as it does in the picture. I've seen a few in person including the one I bought about two or three years ago and they look a little cheap. They were all VS brands, by the way, so the designer brands are probably fine.

Happy St. Patrick's Day Tomorrow

I'll never forget the date of St. Patrick's Day because it is my Grandpa Burt's birthday. (Just like Em's birthday is on or near Columbus Day. This year, her birthday is on a Monday so she'll share the celebration with Columbus. Mark your calendars.)

I saw these shirts on Design Crush and really liked them. I always keep my eyes open for designs I like for work. It's hard to tell in the picture but the left tee is a bunch of clover's making up the big four-leave clover. Happy St. Patrick's Day but more importantly, Happy Birthday Grandpa (tomorrow).

Loft Life

Part of me thinks it would be really cool to live in a loft with big open spaces. Another part, or maybe the same part, of me wants to live in a tree house. Realistically though, I need walls and doors to conceal messes and for privacy. I love this loft. I love the red brick, the wood, and the textures. I really love the bed. Someday I will have a canopy bed.

Free on Craiglist

I have been religiously refreshing the free posts on Craigslist for the past two weeks. We got a huge amount bricks to edge our landscaping from some guy who took them off his house.

Some retired "redneck band" guy put up these boots a few days ago. I emailed him about it but he never got back to me. He still has the boots up so there's hope that the snakeskin ones could be on Adam's feet soon. Cross your fingers. haha.

Post-It Note Pranks

I've seen people do crazy pranks to an office. Here are some ideas with a classic office supply, the Post-It Note. You could go decorate their office.

Or go after their house or car. Let me know if you do something like this or it happens to you.

Food Dressed As Humans

Not really but they are carved to look like them. I find this creepy, especially the watermelon, but hard not to look at. Maybe I should start playing with my food more often.

Headlines

Do you ever watch the Tonight Show? My favorite is Jaywalking but Headlines night is pretty good too. I wanted to share one of last night's headlines with you.

You know those typical get-to-know-you questions? (i.e. Where do you want to be in 10 years?) This cute old lady was asked a bunch of them for a highlight in the newspaper.

You gotta love her response to the lead, "in 10 years I hope to be". She says, "Dead. I'm 92".

I am very excited for Conan to take over. Not because I don't like Jay but I just can't stay up late enough to watch Conan these days.

I Wanna Be A Rapper

Oh, Joaquin. Some think he's serious while some think it's a Borat-ish joke. Personally, I think it's not 100% serious but probably more of an artsy experiment. What do you think? I've seen the video of him rapping. It's pretty bad and I think he knows he's not that good. Whatever the case, this video is pretty entertaining.

I Love You More Than...

And to add a few that I couldn't find...

I love you more than Aubrey loves her "papa".

I love you more than Napoleon loves ligers.

I love you more than I used to hate Valentine's Day.

Happy Love Day everyone. Next year, let's all meet here (pictured below). You have to check out the other natural hearts on this website along with the Google Maps they have links to. It's amazing.
